Perfect Combination of Mediation Skills
Reviewed by Erwin J. Shustak, Esq., 2008-03-11
Our firm has used Mr. Huerta for a number of complex, securities and business mediations. Larry's personality is perfectly suited to the often emotionally laden mediation process. He does an excellent job of keeping clients (and their attorneys) focused on moving toward an amicable resolution an an extremely professional, non-confrontational and empathic manner. He has an extensive, broad based legal and litigation background which is very helpful in objectively focusing all parties on some of the subtle legal technicalities and realities they face on their side of the case. With one exception, all of the mediations Larry has done for us have settled. That one exception was one of those nightmare cases where one of the clients (and her counsel) had an unrealistic view of the case and too much emotion. (We ultimately won that case at trial). Larry, however, did his best to bring the two sides together. He puts everything into making the mediation process positive and has a great ability to put people at ease with his friendly, avuncular personality.
Whenever we are asked by opposing counsel for a list of proposed mediators, Larry always is on the list. He is a pleasure to work with and keeps the mediation on an extremely pleasant, focused keel. We highly recommend him and look forward to working with him in the future.
