We are not just another law firm; at the
Offices of Vincent DeAngelo, Attorney, LLC we have
chosen to limit our practice to just two areas.
First, the majority of our time is spent representing
people injured as a result of medical malpractice.
Second, we handle a small number of cases
for people who have been very seriously injured by other
drivers.
We have a very limited practice – much
more limited than most firms. We do not handle many of
the types of cases a general practice attorney does. We
do not handle real estate. We do not handle corporate
or business matters. We do not handle divorce cases.
We do not draft wills or handle criminal matters. We do
not even handle routine motor vehicle cases that are the
“bread and butter” of many personal injury firms. We
limit our practice to just two very narrow areas so that
we can concentrate on doing just a few things and doing
them well. We limit the number of cases we take so that
we can give these serious matters the individual
attention we believe they deserve. What we do not
limit is the time, effort and commitment we bring to
every one of those cases. We are committed to personal
service by taking just a few cases and handling them on
a personal basis.
How We Operate
Because of the small number of motor vehicle cases we
handle, we only accept cases if we believe that a
reasonable settlement value is at least $300,000.
Further, because we limit the total number of active
cases we handle, there may be times when we simply won’t
accept any new cases. It depends on how soon a lawsuit
must be started and our other workloads. When you first
contact our office about a motor vehicle matter, one of
our paralegals will speak with you and obtain some basic
information about your motor vehicle collision and your
injuries. In some instances it is clear that your
matter may not meet our criteria for settlement value.
Even though we may not be able to take your case, we
believe we are still providing an important service to
you by assisting you in finding an attorney who is
knowledgeable and competent to represent you. Although
we are willing to provide that service, you are
certainly not required to follow our suggestions or
accept our help in this regard. We do not charge you
anything when we assist you in finding a good attorney.
*
After one of our paralegals has reviewed
the case with Attorney DeAngelo, we will contact you.
If your case meets our criteria we will schedule an
appointment with you. If your case does not meet our
criteria, or if Attorney DeAngelo feels that our
caseload is just too high to take on an additional case
at that time, we will assist you in finding a competent
attorney.
*Almost all attorneys handling motor
vehicle cases charge the same fee – it is a percentage
of the amount recovered. Although we will not charge
you for finding an attorney for you, you should know
that the other attorney will send us part of his/her fee
as a referral fee. This does not result in any greater
legal fee for you.
Our Goal
We
strive to provide personal solutions to your problems
with health care providers and their insurance
companies. We do this by limiting ourselves to only 20
to 25
active cases
(click for definition of "active case"). There are many fine lawyers who
handle 75, 100 or even 150 cases. This is fine when
handling routine automobile accident cases. However,
when your case involves very serious injuries resulting
from medical malpractice or automobile collision, we
want to be able to your case the attention it deserves.
That can only be done by limiting the number of cases we
handle.
Our Promise
Our
promise is simple: Straight talk and hard work. If you
have had problems with your doctors or the hospital,
chances are you’ve had enough with evasive answers, or
with no answers at all. We will give you clear answers
to your questions, if we possibly can. We do this both
by working hard to get the right information and
by limiting ourselves to a small number of cases. When you speak to a member of
our staff, you are not just a name; they know you and
they know your case.
