Mr. Ogune is a graduate of the University of Maryland System, where he earned his Masters in Applied Psychology. Mr. Ogune earned his J.D. with honors from the University of Baltimore Law School. As a law student, he was an associate editor of two of the school’s law journals, and was a teaching assistant for two years in the legal skills program. Also while attending law school Mr. Ogune worked for the Honorable Roger W. Brown, Sr. and the Honorable Mabel H. Hubbard, both trial judges at the time with the Circuit Court of Maryland for Baltimore City, and the Honorable Charles E. Moylan, Jr. of the Court of Special Appeals of Maryland. Upon earning his law degree, Mr. Ogune clerked full-time for the Honorable Joseph P. McCurdy, Jr., of the Circuit Court of Maryland for Baltimore City. In those positions, he acquired a great deal of courtroom experience and first-hand knowledge of the inner workings of the court system, including how judges decide cases on a daily basis. Mr. Ogune thereafter worked for Venable, LLP (a premier, 500-lawyer law firm formerly Venable, Baetjer & Howard, LLP) for several years as a member of the firm’s commercial litigation practice group, where he represented a vast array of clients on matters ranging from contract disputes, corporate governance, shareholders’ rights, securities disputes, antitrust matters, to class actions, real property disputes, product liability, and general business torts. During that same period, Mr. Ogune was active in the American Bar Association, and the Maryland State Bar Association, where he received the Leadership in Law award for his work as the Co-Chair of the Disaster Relief Committee of the Young Lawyers Section. Mr. Ogune was also a member of the National Bar Association, the American Trial Lawyers Association, and the Vice President of the Nigerian Lawyers Association.
